The Everyday Makeup Routine is here!!

Writer: girlstuffwithhilanagirlstuffwithhilana

So sorry this is late, but I like you keep you all waiting! This is a detailed blog on how I do my go-to Makeup routine. I'd like to point out that I don't wear makeup everyday but when I'm in a rush to go somewhere this is the look I go to!

Lets be honest, I didn't want to buy a whole new camera and set up cause I'm broke as any student would understand and thought my makeup shelf looked cute in the background :P, however all my videos will be in natural light to show you that makeup in real life is different to YouTube Makeup. Makeup in real life LOOKS LIKE MAKEUP! So many YouTubers' use studio lights and Facetune on their videos, giving unrealistic expectations but the truth is we ALL have texture, we ALL have under eye circles and sometimes the odd pimple! xx

BROWS:

For Brows I use the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil in either the shade 3 or 4, and then use Gimme Brow to set in the shade 3. I try to make my brows look natural and soft as possible rather than the bold Insta brow we all know! I find that using the shade 3 is lighter than my actual brow hairs but helps it to look softer!

To draw my brows I start by drawing the shape at the bottom of the brow and then I fill in my brows by drawing strokes of hairs. I then use the brow gel to set the hairs in place. I don't usually conceal around the eyebrows as I personally thinks it doesn't look natural but feel free to include this if it works for you! x

PRIMER:

I have dry/combination skin, meaning that my t-zone can be oily throughout the day but the rest of my face can be quite dry and because of this I like to use a hydrating primer rather than a pore filling one. My go-to one right now is the Two-Faced Hangover Primer. Not only does it smell like 'I need a Holiday' but its great for dry skin! x

FOUNDATION:

As said before my skin gets dry from time-to-time therefore I only use matte foundations to big events. For everyday makeup,I have loved the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation in the shade 208. In the UK this is only available on Amazon so finding your shade online can be a bit of a struggle but if you can its a great foundation especially for the price point! Its a Light weight, a natural glow finish with a medium coverage which is build-able and lasts all-day longgg. For Oily skin I recommend the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (I use shade 240) as that DOES NOT budge one single bit!

To Apply I use the original Beautyblender and use up and down motions, bouncing the sponge on my face, this helps get rid of any streaks and keep the coverage of the product! x

CONTOUR:

You can skip this step if you'd like but when I want my makeup to look really seamless I love using a cream contour to give me some cheek bones. The Anastasia Beverly Hills contour stick blends out like a dream!! First I use a brush and then go over any harsh lines with a beautyblender! x

CONCEALER:

In Rhianna's famous words "everyone knows concealer is made for hiding dark circles and bad decisions..." and when you find a drugstore concealer that can do both you know your winning! My fave for everyday is the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Hydrate Concealer and not only is it only £7 but coverage and lasting power is Bomb!! I use shade C6 as I love that highlighted and brightening look!

I apply the concealer to the under eyes, chin, bridge of the nose and the centre of the forehead and then blend using my trusty beauty blender. With the under eyes its important to make sure there's no creases underneath before setting with powder! x

SETTING POWDER:

Although I have mentioned I have dry skin about 3 times already, I still need to make sure my face doesn't melt off throughout the day and Fenty Beauty's Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder knows this!! Ever since I started using this I can't stop, not only does it smell amazing but its so finely milled that it just sinks into my pores, and its a must have for any skin type!

Depending on how long I need my makeup to last for, if I need it to last the whole day i bake my under eyes with my beauty blender (seriously I use this for everything I know) and then use a powder puff for the rest of my face, and sweep the excess off with a large powder brush OR I go in with a small brush to pack it into the skin all over.

BRONZER AND BLUSH:

Summer may nearly be over but I still need to get that sun-kissed skin (yes I know it sounds cringe) and benefit Hoola has been an OG fave of mine. For Blush my perfect colour to bring some life back into my skin is the L'Oreal Life's a Peach blush

For bronzer I use an angled brush and use swirling motions around the jawline (hide that double chin), forehead and cheek bones and also give myself a nose job with it as well! Then for Blush I use a regular face brush and apply it to the apples of my cheeks, making sure I blend into the bronzer so everything is more together! x

HIGHLIGHTER:

Over here on the girl stuff with Hilana page we love to glow from the heavens and beyond and highlighter is my favourite part of my routine. I switch it up a lot of the time but the one I always go back to is the Ofra 'Rodeo Drive' highlighter!

I use a small fluffy brush and spread it across my cheeks, nose, brow bone, temples and cupids bow! x

SETTING SPRAY:

In the video at the top you see me using two setting sprays, the Iconic London Prep-Set-Glow in the shade Glow, to make the base look dewy and skin like, and the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray to ensure that it the makeup lasts all day!! x

LIPS:

For Lips I know three items is a bit extreme but I love mixing shades and formulas together. My budge proof fave is the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick and Lip Liner both in the shade Androgyny, and then recently I love topping it off with the Iconic London Lip Gloss in Nearly Nude!

First I fill in the outer portions of the lips, over-lining the cupids bow slightly and contouring in the middle and the sides and then add the liquid lipstick and lip-gloss to top it off! x

MASCARA:

When it comes to needing volume but not clumping the L'Oreal Paradise Mascara is a must have!

I apply mascara after setting spray as I find that when spraying my face after just applying mascara, it would transfer because it would still be wet, therefore its the last part of my routine and I apply it to the lashes x
